Hello friends and followers! We are making official what you've likely assumed after so long without an update: this project is on hiatus indefinitely.

Boiling Over was originally created as a prototype by several Masters students for a class in one semester. However, our team managed to go above and beyond to create something special that we each worked on for the remainder of our college careers (er, a few of us graduated later, but minor details are minor.)

I feel incredibly privileged to have worked with talented programmers, writers, artists, and a musician, all of whom I would love to work with again, and whom I consider special friends. However, as is the nature of connections we form in school, we've all grown distant as we've graduated and made our way into the world after college. We're all busy adults on our own paths now.

If you want to see a future for Boiling Over, it may be quite a while, and it may be created by a very different group of talent, possibly even from scratch. I believe our team managed to capture cute, colorful, and of course ULTRA GAY lightning in a bottle when it was least expected. Some day, we may be able to take that bottle off the shelf and see what we more we can do with that lightning. But for now, and for quite a while to come, we are so proud to have the bottle on our shelf at all.

Thanks you everyone! The project as it currently exists will remain online for anyone and everyone to download and enjoy for free. You may still join our discord server to chat with others about the game, but we will not be closely moderating or participating.
